Molly Petrelli is an integral member of The Schossow Group of Compass Denver with nearly a decade in real estate. She is a Colorado native (including a proud DPS grad and CSU Ram) with a love for our local communities and a passion to help deliver home dreams for her clients. Outside of work you can find Molly with her family. Along with her husband, they have three young kids to keep them busy with their many activities.

What do you love most about real estate?
I've always had a passion for homes that I think started as a kid stemming from weekends with my parents. Being a Denver native, I have seen the Denver Metro area grow expansively over the last four decades. Growing up we spent many weekends as a family visiting the new build communities, touring homes, going to the Parade of Homes and seeing how home trends changed over the years. I may not have always appreciated that as a kid, but I look back fondly at it.
While we often toured these homes, my parents have lived in the same Denver home for nearly 50 years truly creating what "home" means to me and instilling in me that a house is so much more than that. This is what I love most about real estate. I love watching people dream about and find their "home”. I love helping families navigate the process of dreaming big, figuring out what qualities in a home are most important to them and then seeing it across the finish line.

How much has real estate changed during your career?
Just in the last few years since COVID, we have seen the highs and lows that real estate can throw at us. From historically low interest rates and inventory that created a market on fire to rates rising and the market coming to a near standstill. Staying up to speed on the details of the industry are crucial to providing our clients with a positive and successful home buying and selling process. Compass gives us every tool at our disposal to give our clients the best possible outcomes but, at the end of the day, it’s still a people business and that will never change.
What are the biggest key to your success?
Authenticity and communication. This is about my clients and their hopes and their goals. It’s not about me or my timeline. I know that but my goal is to get our clients to truly understand and feel that throughout the process of buying or selling a home, which is a monumental decision in everyone’s life.
What is the proudest moment of your career?
Every home transaction is an emotional journey and getting each sale to the finish line is so rewarding and worth celebrating with clients as they see their goals realized. I've also had the opportunity to be a judge in the Colorado Springs Parade of Homes the last few years which has been a blast and a really amazing learning experience.
How do you balance work and life along with raising a family?
Our team! Thankfully our team here at The Schossow Group all work together and are also close friends. Several of us are all in similar seasons of life with keeping up with multiple kids and their school, sports and various hobbies. Working so closely we are able to call on each other for help and support any time, whether its helping show clients a home, bouncing situations off of each other in sharing our expertise or just walking through it all together. On top of an incredibly tight-knit team I am thankful for my husband and kiddos who are supportive and flexible when real estate can be hard to predict.
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work?
I love volunteering at my kids' schools and getting to peek into their days, hustling from sport to sport, cooking, working out and most recently I have jumped on the sourdough bandwagon and I am having so much fun baking all sorts of good stuff for my family. People who know us laugh at how busy we are – much of that due to kids sports and activities – but we know this season will fly by so we try to soak up every rushed drive to a field or court and the daily hustle and bustle.
Molly's family has been Broncos season ticket holders in the South Stands since the 1960s and now her family loves to support the Rockies, Nuggets and Avalanche as well.
Favorite local restaurant
My favorite local restaurant was Piccolos off of Hampden and Monaco in Denver. They served Mexican and Italian food and both my sisters and I worked there in high school. After 30+ years, they just recently closed their doors in 2023 and I am still on the hunt for a new favorite spot that isn't a big chain. I would love to hear your favorite place that we need to try! In the Highlands Ranch area, I love Postino, Sierra and, for something quicker, Torchy’s Tacos is always a hit with everyone in the family.
Favorite Colorado getaway?
Granby! We love feeling tucked away in the mountains but still having access to some of the bigger mountain towns like Winter Park and Grand Lake close by. We also enjoy getting out to Jackson Lake in northeast Colorado with my sister's family and our son's baseball schedule takes us all over the state.
Best concert you’ve ever attended or would like to attend?
I love a good country concert but experiencing Taylor Swift this past summer with our daughter was tough to beat…she sure put on an incredible show. Last year, our family loved our first Red Rocks concert as a family seeing the K-LOVE Live at Red Rocks concert.
Favorite sports team?
My dad and uncle have had Broncos Season tickets for 50+ years so the Broncos will always hold a special place in my heart as we shared so many fun memories both at home and at games watching the Broncos with cousins. While they haven't been great for several years we keep hoping for a return to the glory days. Tied for first would be the Rockies. We have a lot of baseball lovers in our house and nothing beats the environment of a summer day at Coors Field.
Any favorite charities or non-profits?
Compassion International and The Shelter Foundation. We have sponsored three wonderful kids – two in Honduras and one in Peru – as part of Compassion for several years and corresponding with them is our favorite and been awesome for both their families and ours.
If you weren’t in real estate, what do you think you would be doing?
I think I would have a job in the kids school. As I mentioned above, I love being involved there and a job at their school would offer the same schedule.
Why did you join The Schossow Group?
When I first started in real estate, I was on a team with my brother-in-law and it was wonderful and will always be grateful for that. It was difficult to leave that team for obvious reasons but also was exciting to join The Schossow Group. My husband has worked with Schossow Group for over eight years and continues to on the marketing side through his company, Petrelli Media. It made sense for our family to be “all in” but also offered me a great opportunity to join the team and join Compass. I value that the team prides itself on integrity, honesty, putting our clients first, collaborating without ego and has experience and knowledge across all price points in the Denver Metro area. Several of our agents are Colorado natives giving us a unique knowledge and experience of what we can offer and how we guide our clients through the buying/selling process.
Your favorite updates to see in a home/what you look for first in a home?
Of course, it is always fun to see the big updates like kitchens and bathrooms but one of my favorite things to take note of are the simple things like how someone decorates and gets creative with their spaces. I have come home with so many ideas for our own home over the years after being inspired by what others have done.
What is your best quality you bring to add value for your clients?
Availability and communication. I make it a goal for clients to always be able to get a hold of me for anything that may come up. I never want you waiting on me.
